Meet Dr. Hun Ki Hong, O.D.
Dr. Hun Ki Hong is an optometrist who provides personalized, comprehensive care with a strong interest in the connection between eye findings and systemic health. He strives to make each exam feel calm, clear, and useful, so patients leave with a solid understanding of their eyes and what comes next. Dr. Hong is fluent in Korean, which allows him to communicate comfortably with Korean-speaking patients and families in the community.
Education and Background
Dr. Hong grew up in Fairfax County and has been part of the Northern Virginia community for most of his life. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry, where he received training in primary eye care, ocular disease, and specialty contact lenses. Since graduating, he has dedicated his career to providing attentive, medically focused eye care to patients in Northern Virginia.
Clinical Interests and Areas of Focus
Dr. Hong’s clinical interests include understanding how systemic conditions can show up in the eyes and using that information to support his patients’ overall health. He provides primary eye care, dry eye management, and ongoing care for a variety of eye diseases, as well as myopia management for children and young adults who need more than a stronger prescription each year.
One of his longstanding priorities is helping patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes or glaucoma, understand why consistent monitoring matters and how regular eye exams can help protect their vision.
